Who we are
Curating color. Building community.
The Mural People is a creative agency specializing in the curation, production, and promotion of public art experiences. Based in Southeast Michigan, we work with cities, businesses, and organizations to transform blank walls into bold statements—celebrating local culture, sparking connection, and creating lasting visual impact.
Founded and led by artists and entrepreneurs Michelle Tanguay and Dan Armand, The Mural People manages every step of the mural process from artist selection and community engagement to permits, logistics, and final brushstrokes. Whether it’s a downtown revitalization effort or a one-of-a-kind festival installation, we bring vision to the surface.
With a growing portfolio that includes large-scale projects across the Downriver area, our work is rooted in storytelling, collaboration, and the belief that public art has the power to shape place and identity.
Michelle Tanguay is a Detroit-based artist, creative director, and founder of The Mural People.
